Richard Akentarah is a lecturer at the Department of Accounting and Finance and presently serves as the Co-ordinator for the one-year Masters of Science in Accounting and Finance programme. He has worked with the Catholic University of Ghana (CUG) for a little over one year now and has been promoted from Assistant lecturer to the rank of lecturer effective January, 2024. He was first appointed as an Assistant Lecturer in September, 2022 and was promoted to Lecturer with effect from January, 2024. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Administration (Accounting) from the University of Education Winneba in 2008, and then he pursued a Masters of Business Administration in Finance and Master of Philosophy in Development Finance from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). He also studied Masters of Science in Oil and Gas Management from Coventry University in the United Kingdon. He is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana. He is planning to start PhD in Development Finance any moment from this year. His research interests are in the areas of Development finance, Development economics, Development Management and Financial technology application.
