Born in the vibrant town of Dormaa Ahenkro and raised amidst the rich cultural tapestry of Navrongo in the Upper East Region of Ghana, my life has been a journey through diverse cultures and experiences. This cross-cultural socialization in my formative years has imbued me with a unique perspective, allowing me to appreciate the nuances of various cultural backgrounds. As a family man blessed with a loving spouse and four children, my personal life is anchored in love, dedication, and the pursuit of excellence.
My academic journey began with a passion for understanding the political and social dynamics of our world. This led me to the University of Ghana, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with French in 1994. My quest for knowledge didn't stop there; I proceeded to earn a Master of Public Administration from the same university in 1998. However, my intellectual curiosity and desire for a global perspective propelled me further to the University of Amsterdam, where I obtained a Master of Arts in International Relations.
The international exposure gained from my studies abroad has been instrumental in shaping my worldview, enabling me to approach challenges with a global mindset. My commitment to faith as a practicing Catholic further guides my actions and decisions, integrating my personal values with my professional life. Professionally, I have dedicated 23 years to the noble calling of university administration. My career commenced at the University for Development Studies (UDS), where I initially served as a Faculty Officer. In this role, I had the privilege of managing two vital faculties: the Faculty of Integrated Development Studies (FIDS) and the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FAS). My responsibilities included the efficient management of resources and fostering team collaboration to ensure smooth academic operations. I also contributed to the university's governance as the Secretary to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor.
In 2008, my journey took me to the Catholic University of Ghana (CUG), where I continued to ascend professionally. From heading the Academic Affairs Unit to being promoted to Deputy Registrar, and later, serving as the Acting Registrar, my tenure at CUG has been marked by significant achievements and growth. My leadership was further recognized with my appointment as a Member of the University Council from May 4, 2021, to October 31, 2023. As of November 1, 2023, I proudly hold the position of Registrar, where I continue to serve with dedication, integrity, and a commitment to excellence.
Throughout my career, I have been guided by principles of self-motivation, selflessness, and a results-oriented approach. These values have not only propelled my professional journey but have also shaped my personal life, enabling me to contribute positively to the communities I have been part of. As I look to the future, I remain committed to lifelong learning and to making meaningful contributions to the field of education and beyond. My journey, rooted in diverse cultures and enriched by extensive academic and professional experiences, continues to inspire my quest for excellence and service to humanity.
