The University Council
The Catholic University of Ghana (CUG), located in Fiapre, Sunyani, has been recognized for its achievements and contributions to academia. In 2023, it was awarded the title of Academic Institution of the Year by the Chartered Institute of Supply Chain Management (CISCM), highlighting its excellence in integrated supply chain management education, professionalism, and service excellence. This accolade reflects the university's commitment to developing professionals in this field through rigorous training and adherence to professional standards.
Governance at CUG is overseen by various key bodies and officials who ensure the institution's smooth operation and adherence to its mission and values. The leadership structure includes principal officers, a governing council, and the Senate, which play crucial roles in decision-making and strategic direction. These governance bodies are supported by the Ghana Catholic Bishops' Conference and a Board of Trustees, ensuring that the university's operations align with its foundational Catholic principles and educational goals.
The university has also received a Presidential Charter, granting it autonomy as an institution that can award its diplomas and degrees. This significant achievement allows CUG to operate independently, further solidifying its status as a reputable academic institution.
